We’ll be hosting a Cellar Sale, Saturday the 26th, from 11am to 2pm… many amazing beers available. And for the weekend’s Tasting Menu we’re pleased to feature the 12 collaboration beers that Sierra Nevada brewed with some of the best breweries in the nation. All twelve beers will be on draft, using six of them as pairings on our tasting menu. We’ll kick off the weekend by dedicating our 4 Course Tasting Menu to Sours of the World, including Freigeist Rhubarb Gose, Vicaris Tripel-Gueuze and Cantillon Vigneronne. Bottle selections of various sours will also be available, including cellared Cuvee de Ranke, Drie Fonteinen, and Fantome. Then Monday Feb 10 we’ll host a special Guest Chef Burger & IPA Bash, from 9-11:30pm. Chefs include NOPA’s Laurence Jossel, Telmo Faria from Tacolicious, William Werner of Craftsman & Wolves, and Liza Shaw of Merigan Sub Shop. This event will serve as the unveiling of a new Abbot’s Cellar burger, to be tweaked in the following weeks before finding a more permanent home on the menu. Each chef will offer a limited number of burgers at $15 each, with all proceeds going to charity — The Cooking Project.Dinner with Dogfish Head & Sam CalagioneWe are happy to announce that Sam Calagione will be in town and has asked us to host a night with him at the Abbot’s Cellar. We will dedicate January 22nd’s tasting menu to vintage Dogfish beers with Sam walking around our wooden floorboards. How does ’05 World Wide Stout, ’07 Red & White (..amazing…), ’06 Immort Ale and Raison d’Extra and ’09 Burton Baton sound? Join us for dinner over this weekend to enjoy a 4-course dinner paired with 2 beers from Dogfish Head (Sixty-One and Noble Rot) and 2 beers from Allagash (Victor and Victoria).Brewmasters Banquet with MateVeza and Sam AdamsOn Sunday, August 4th, we will be featuring the beers of Sam Adams and MateVeza: the night’s tasting menu will showcase several of their beers, including a collaboration beer the two breweries worked on and a beer that our staff brewed at MateVeza’s local small brewery (Cerveceria). Email [email protected] Anniversary Cellar SaleOn July 27th, from 10:00AM to 2:00PM, we welcome you to attend a public cellar sale to take place at the Abbot’s Cellar at 742 Valencia. Since 2007, we’ve carefully been setting aside beers to age gently in our cellars. Now, we open them to you. Right now, we’ve got more tasty aged beer than fits on the lists of the Monk’s Kettle and Abbot’s Cellar. The last thing we want is for this beer to age beyond its peak. So here we are. Each bottle will be accompanied by notes on the beer. See you there!Terra Incognita Release — Sierra Nevada and Boulevard Brewing Co’sJoin us on Monday June 3rd, as we welcome two titan’s in the craft beer industry: Sierra Nevada and Boulevard Brewing. We’ll be hosting them for a release of their collaborative Terra Incognita. Our 4 course tasting menu will be dedicated to the 2 breweries that evening, and both Steven Pauwels and Steve Dresler will be in-house. You can enjoy the four course tasting menu with them for a 6pm seating at our Communal Table – the most intimate beer dinner ever. $95/person for the 8 seats with the brewers. Taking over the entire a la carte menu will be Kyle Mendenhall from The Kitchen in Boulder CO. Our own chef Adam and Kyle have been friends for a long time, and we thought what better way to kick off a Guest Chef series than with such a close and talented friend. Kyle will be flying in Friday night, heading to the Farmers Market Saturday morning with Adam to source the menu, and spending the rest of his time prepping for you all to enjoy a delicious Sunday meal.
